GAME DEVELOPMENT
For children: 9-15 years old
Course Information
During the course, students will master the tools for developing games in Roblox Studio and the fundamentals of the Lua scripting language. Students themselves choose which game and characters to create.

Class Size: <12 students

Module 1: The world I live in (construction of the game world)

Students learn how to work in the Roblox environment. They explore basic tools of the script syntax through:
- Creation of a one-level 3D platform game.
- Development of Gameworld: creating a landscape, buildings, and objects, adding light sources, treasures, and hidden obstacles.
- Completion of exercises in order to consolidate new material using the Platform.

Module 2 - A world full of surprises (mastering the game design)

Students explore different computer game genres and begin:
Development of a quest or an RPG (a multi-level 3D game with unexpected plot twists).
Working on the Platform: planning the game, completing exercises to consolidate new material.

Module 3 - We are so different (Creating Multiplayer Games)

Students explore different types of players in their game strategies, design various types of players and learn how to configure scripts to work in multiplayer mode.
- Creating a multiplayer game with different types of characters.
- Working on the Platform: planning the game, completing exercises to consolidate new material.

Module 4: The world of racing tracks

Students create a racing game. Through this process, students:
- Apply geometry knowledge to design an ATV
- Learn to add and test scripts
- Explore game simulations

Module 5: Arcade Go to a new level (cross-platform development)

Students explore requirements in creating a mobile game.
- Create an arcade game
- Know the features of the mobile version of the game.
- Creating a mobile game interface.
- Customizing scripts for cross-platform development.
