WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS: HOW CHILDREN LEARN TO CODE?
Have you ever stepped into the shoes of a child to experience a new subject? If not, the "How children learn to code" workshop will offer you a unique perspective! […]
Technology will rule the world in the 4.0 age. So, Algorithmics gives your children a head start on learning to code and establish the ideal environment for kids to eventually interact with the world of digital technology. Besides, Algo students will be taught how to command technology and develop essential soft skills for the 21st Century.
Algorithmics is the International Coding School for students from 5-17 years old. Besides learning "how to use technology," students at Algo will be taught "how to command technology”. With a personalized learning pathway, students can begin to study from 5 years old, depending on their knowledge, study styles, level of receptivity and stage of mental development.
We prepare children for a fast-changing world by teaching them essential 21st-century skills-empowering them to have their choice of professions-of-the-future:
Soft skills are the key to success for kids in the 4.0 era. Soft skills continue playing a significant role, regardless of the occupations that people select. Knowing how important soft skills are, our methodologists have researched and developed a unique way for children to study. From that, students do not only study how to code but also improve their soft skills:
Technology is becoming more and more popular in the 4.0 era. Daily lives, as well as education, healthcare, production, and trade, steadily rely on technology. As a result, technological skills are progressively becoming a “must-have skill” for those who wish to fit in the society today.
Before discovering the “Coding world”, Algoers must prepare themselves with technological skills, from basic to advanced knowledge:
How to use mouse, keyboard, sit with right posture
How to handle information security and store data
How to use the internet safely, how to avoid erroneous information and dangerous news
How to take advantage of the most widely used internet resources and services, such as Facebook, Drive, Microsoft,...
Teamwork is learnt by collaborating with friends and completing shared projects. According to the "Cooperative learning" concept, students must collaborate during the learning process, also plan, allocate work, and communicate with one another in order to finish their projects. Students will learn how to communicate, listen to ideas from friends and resolve their issues. In Particular, they can understand that we are “Stronger together”, identifying their strengths, weaknesses and values within a group.
Most of us usually link “learn coding” with computer-related activities. However, by taking part in a variety of activities at Algorithmics, kids will be more energetic and active. So, presentation is one of the mostly-done exercises. This skill will be improved when they present their projects. Additionally, the students also develop their critical thinking skills by answering questions from teachers and friends.
In the conclusion of each course, Algoers will present their final projects in front of the class, with the presence of parents, instructors, and classmates, so that parents can observe the process of their children's development and growth. They will present their own projects, including how and why they came up with it.
With “Project-based learning”, students will learn through creating projects. Logical thinking is improved by creating projects and challenges in games, using reasoning in a way that allows an individual to come to a viable solution. And Proactive thinking is gained by thinking about the future, planning and preparing their projects to achieve a goal. From there, students will have access to fresh information, be proactive in asking questions, and come up with appropriate answers to issues on their own. Making projects and solving in-game problems allows them to build their logic while utilizing their own judgment to find the best potential solutions. Without being given a clear path to follow, they will constantly come up with numerous ways to finish the job.
Creativity and curiosity are acquired while creating projects. Students are encouraged to take risks, be innovative and never stop learning. Projects that they make are based on what they learn as well as what they come up with. Teachers will encourage and guide them as they work on their projects. In order to make impressive projects, students need to use their creativity and curiosity.
In the process of learning coding, students have to face many issues and "bugs". So, one of the skills that Algorithmics want students to practice regularly is problem-solving.
This skill will be enhanced through breaking down problems piece by piece, observing, removing details and determining what the next steps are.
